Everything Judy Collins was about shines on this album and it's a real must for any fan. But times were changing by late Dylan had performed his notorious electric set at the Newport Folk Festival on July 20th, and around the time Judy's album was released in October Like a Rolling Stone had reached #2 on Billboard's Hot /5(24).

But if somehow you could pack up your sorrows And give them all to me You would lose them, I know how to use them Give them all to me No use ramblin', walkin' in the shadows Trailin' a wanderin' star No one beside you, no one to hide you Nobody knows where you are But if somehow you could pack up your sorrows And give them all to me.

Judy Collins' sweet soprano is as much a part of the '60s as the Beatles or Motown. Dorm rooms reverberated with her interpretations of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell songs. She knew how to ferret out good tunes and many artists got their initial exposure through her versions -- Mitchell in particular.

Aug 05,  · Judy Collins – Fifth Album Fifth Album finally makes its Hot Stamper debut here with outstanding Double Plus (A++) sound from first note to last on the Big Red E label These sides are exceptionally good, especially compared to most of what we played – only the best early pressings managed to get Collins’ voice to sound natural and real.
