Slow Turning is probably Hiatt's finest work. Guaranteed to evoke emotion and warm sentiments for those who remember the United States before the internet made everyone an intellectual. I purchase my music from Amazon, based upon what song comes into my head when I wake in the morning/5(12).

"The Best Of John Hiatt" also features the wonderful "Buffalo River Home", one of Hiatt's best tunes and lyrics. Hiatt's first recording of his own "Angel Eyes" (which he gave to Jeff Healy, who had a hit with it in ). The groovy, slow R&B of "Take Off Your Uniform"/5(86).

Sep 22,  · Never felt the need for a remaster. I love to hear 'em loud and clear, but Hiatt's music was never about sound quality in the first place. BTW. You might check out his Walk on album as well. It's his first record for Capitol and it's very good, up to the same songwriting level als Perfectly good guitar and Slow turning.
